Strategic Procurement Lead

We are seeking an experienced procurement professional to lead our purchasing function and drive strategic sourcing initiatives. The successful candidate will develop and implement a purchasing strategy that aligns with our business objectives, ensuring optimal supplier performance and price.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Create and implement best practice purchasing vision, strategy, policies, processes, and procedures to improve business performance.
  • Evaluate challenges faced by the business and take action to mitigate risks and develop opportunities.
  • Contribute to overall business strategy and annual planning process.
  • Negotiate contract terms with key suppliers to ensure value for money, quality standards, and delivery terms.
  • Forecast price and market trends to identify changes in buyer-supplier power.
  • Develop an overall vendor base that creates and sustains a competitive advantage.
  • Manage relationships and negotiate with key suppliers at a senior and strategic level.
  • Ensure professional and consistent supplier management across the supply base.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • 8-10 years of relevant experience in technical and non-technical procurement.
  • Degree-level education in a commercial or engineering discipline (preferably Master's).
  • Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply (CIPS) certification or Fellow/Member status.
  • Proven track record in strategic purchasing leadership delivering effective purchasing strategies, policies, processes, and systems.
  • Ability to add value, reduce costs, and make business improvements.
