Senior Accounting Specialist

As a critical member of our accounting team, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining the financial accuracy and integrity of client accounts. Your expertise in accounting software, attention to detail, and ability to multitask will be essential in managing multiple tasks efficiently while ensuring precision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Sales and Expense Invoicing: Accurately input sales and expense invoices into accounting software.
  • Client Bookkeeping: Maintain clients' bookkeeping records in Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage, identifying errors and ensuring accuracy.
  • Bank Reconciliations: Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations for clients using Xero, QuickBooks, or Sage.
  • VAT Returns: Complete VAT returns and verify the accuracy of related bank transactions.
  • Financial Statements: Prepare yearly client accounts, including cash flow statements, profit & loss accounts, and balance sheets.
  • Management Accounts: Prepare monthly or quarterly management accounts for clients (as per agreed scope).
  • Payroll Processing: Process clients' payroll, including expense claims and auto-enrolment for pensions.
  • Ad-Hoc Tasks: Support the team with ad-hoc client-related tasks.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • MATHAMATICAL SKILLS: Strong mathematical skills for accurate record-keeping.
  • ADMINISTRATIVE SKILLS: Administrative skills for maintaining financial records.
  • ACCOUNTING SOFTWARE: Proficiency in spreadsheets, databases, and accounting software (Microsoft Office, Xero, QuickBooks, Sage).
  • TIME MANAGEMENT: Excellent multi-tasking and organisational skills to meet deadlines.
  • CUSTOMER SERVICE: Strong interpersonal and customer service skills for client and internal communication.
