Job Description:

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our business development efforts in the region. As a Regional Business Development Head, you will be responsible for driving strategic growth, expanding market presence, and overseeing operational execution of our retail and enterprise business.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership & Vision:
    • Develop and implement a region-specific business development strategy aligned with our overall goals.
    • Identify high-potential market segments, create actionable plans, and execute targeted initiatives to capture market share.
  • Team Leadership & Management:
    • Lead, mentor, and manage retail and enterprise business development teams, providing guidance, support, and performance feedback.
    • Foster a high-performance culture within the team, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and individual targets.
  • Market Expansion & Penetration:
    • Develop an end-to-end on-ground payments ecosystem driven by our mobile wallet & Raast enabled merchants, with a strong network of payment acceptance points and supplier payments.
    • Manage on-ground drives to customers' engagement through trade initiatives, agents, and merchant channel.
    • Drive the agent channel to ensure cash-in and cash-out servicing for our mobile wallet base in the respective region.
    • Create a supplier payments ecosystem by onboarding local distributors and enabling merchants for supplier payments.
    • Spearhead efforts to increase our market presence and penetration in remote areas.
    • Conduct detailed market research and analysis to identify gaps, assess potential, and implement targeted strategies.
  • Relationship Building & Stakeholder Management:
    • Build and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders, local partners, clients, and industry influencers.
    • Represent the company at local events, conferences, and networking opportunities to enhance business visibility and forge new partnerships.
  • Performance Monitoring & Reporting:
    • Oversee the tracking and reporting of sales performance metrics for the remote area, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
    • Provide regular reports and insights to senior management, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations.
  • Training & Development:
    • Identify skill gaps and training needs within the on-ground team and implement development programs to enhance their effectiveness.
    • Facilitate ongoing learning and professional growth opportunities for team members.
  • Operational Excellence & Compliance:
    • Ensure that all business development activities adhere to industry standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
    • Streamline processes and improve operational efficiency to support effective business development.

Requirements:

  • Education & Experience:
    • A Master's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
    • A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in business development or sales leadership is required.
    • A strong background in leading teams in field operations, particularly in underdeveloped or rural markets, is necessary.
  • Skills & Competencies:
    • Strategic thinking and market vision are essential.
    • Inspirational leadership and people development skills are required.
    • A deep understanding of digital financial services and field-based sales ecosystems is necessary.
    • Excellent stakeholder management, negotiation, and communication skills are required.
    • An analytical and data-oriented decision-making approach is essential.
    • Resilience and adaptability in remote or dynamic market environments are necessary.
  • Additional Requirements:
    • Willingness to relocate or work extensively in less developed or remote regions is required.
    • Comfortable managing remote teams and working independently is necessary.
    • Flexibility to travel as needed to field offices or markets is required.
