Quality Assurance Engineer

Astronomer is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Test Automation to lead the test automation efforts for our self-hosted platform. This role is essential to ensure the quality, reliability, and scalability of our product through comprehensive integration, E2E, smoke, regression, and performance testing.
You will design, develop, and maintain automated test suites for integration, end-to-end (E2E), smoke, and regression testing. Define and implement strategies for scalability and load testing of a Kubernetes-based distributed system. Perform manual testing on frontend (UI) and backend (API, database) to validate functionality, usability, and performance.

Requirements
We are looking for a skilled and experienced professional with the following qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in test automation for modern distributed systems.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in writing automation for microservices built in Node.js, Python, and Go.
Bonus Points
Familiarity with service mesh environments (e.g., Istio, Gloo) and chaos engineering tools like Litmus or Chaos Mesh can be beneficial. Experience in secure testing and compliance validation for enterprise deployments is also a plus.
