Trade Finance Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to oversee our export operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation and submission of customs and bank documents for export shipments, ensuring timely and accurate execution.

The ideal candidate will have experience in trade finance, preferably within the textile or manufacturing sector, and possess certifications such as Certified Financial Analyst (CFA) or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Document Preparation and Submission: Oversee the preparation and submission of customs and bank documents for export shipments, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and requirements.
  • Marketing Support: Address marketing queries related to export documentation, commissions, and payment realization, providing expert guidance and support to stakeholders.
  • Import Process Coordination: Coordinate import processes from Letter of Credit (L/C) opening to shipment clearance from customs, ensuring seamless execution and minimal disruptions.
  • Finance and Accounts Liaison: Liaise with Finance and Accounts for import operations, documentation, payments, and proceeds, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Transportation Negotiations: Negotiate with transporters for import/export logistics, finalize contracts, and evaluate bids from freight forwarders as needed, securing optimal rates and services.
  • Clearance Bill Approval: Scrutinize and approve transport and customs clearance bills for import/export, ensuring accuracy and adherence to company policies.
  • Freight Rate Negotiation: Negotiate sea and air freight rates for Full Container Load (FCL)/Less than Container Load (LCL) and air shipments, leveraging expertise to secure favorable terms.
  • Freight Forwarder Payment: Liaise with accounts department for timely payment of freight forwarders, maintaining positive relationships and avoiding disputes.
Key Requirements:
  • Trade Finance Experience: Experience in trade finance, preferably within the textile or manufacturing sector, is essential for this role.
  • Certifications: Professional certifications like Certified Financial Analyst (CFA), Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), or equivalent are desirable.
  • Trade Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of trade finance instruments (L/Cs, etc.) and international trade regulations is critical for success in this position.
  • Bank and Regulatory Liaison: Proven experience in liaising with banks, financial institutions, and regulatory bodies for import/export documentation and payments is necessary.
  • Financial Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in financial software and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems is required.
  • Analytical and Negotiation Skills: Strong analytical and risk assessment skills, combined with exceptional negotiation and communication skills, are essential for driving business results.
  • Leadership and Collaboration: Ability to lead teams, work cross-functionally, and drive process improvements under high-pressure conditions is vital for success in this role.
