Senior Information Security Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a seasoned security engineer to join our team as a Senior Information Security Specialist. As a key member of our cybersecurity and tech controls team, you will play a critical role in delivering software solutions that meet functional and user requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and troubleshoot security solutions, applying knowledge of existing security measures to meet client requirements.
  • Create secure, high-quality production code and maintain algorithms that operate synchronously with relevant systems.
  • Utilize specialized tools to analyze and correlate incident data, identifying and assessing threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Lead initiatives on security awareness, training, and educational activities.
  • Contribute to fostering a team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills
  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 3+ years of practical experience.
  • Experience with software applications and technical processes within a specific discipline, along with foundational knowledge of software systems and design principles.
  • Proficiency in coding with Java and Python, with practical hands-on experience.
  • Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Basic understanding of security protocols, cryptography, authentication, and authorization.
  • Experience with Trino, Redis, Iceberg, Hive, and Hive Metastore.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS, CAPABILITIES, AND SKILLS
  • Exposure to cloud technologies, particularly AWS and AWS EKS, with a deep understanding of Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with distributed systems and the Big Data ecosystem.
  • Experience with monitoring tools like Splunk and Grafana.
  • Knowledge of version control systems and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Understanding of data processing engines such as Spark, Trino, and Presto.
  • Familiarity with agile methodologies, application resiliency, and security best practices.
