Countering Narcotics Project Manager

This role is part of a major initiative designed to help tackle cross-border crime that undermines the security and prosperity of the UK and Pakistan.

The successful candidate will work as a Workstream Lead on this project, focusing on countering narcotics. They will lead a problem-driven, iterative adaptation approach to project design and delivery, identifying and defining problems within the project's scope, and implementing policy, process, human capacity, and system changes that deliver results.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing a comprehensive plan for countering narcotics, in collaboration with team members and counterparts.
  • Collaborating closely with Pakistani and British government counterparts to ensure effective coordination and implementation of project activities.
  • Designing and implementing GESI-sensitive indicators to track the project's impact on marginalized groups.
  • Ensuring sustainability in reforms and system improvements, by designing interventions that are designed for long-term sustainability and institutional ownership.
  • Strengthening communications and stakeholder engagement, by developing and implementing communication strategies that highlight project achievements and enhance stakeholder engagement.

Requirements include:

  • A minimum of 16+ years of education from a reputable university.
  • An undergraduate degree in a relevant subject, with a master's degree being a bonus.
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience, including additional qualifications relevant to the job.

The ideal candidate will possess strong problem-definition and problem-solving skills, research and synthesis abilities, planning and delivering results, data gathering, analysis, and evaluation skills, stakeholder management expertise, quality and attention to detail, continuous improvement, managing complexity, innovation and change management, communication and knowledge management, collaboration and teamwork, personal impact and effectiveness, writing and presentation, and relationship building skills.
