Senior Data Engineer Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data solutions on Microsoft Azure.

The successful candidate will be responsible for building and optimizing data storage solutions, including data lakes, data warehouses, and relational databases on Azure. They will also develop ETL/ELT processes for data ingestion, transformation, and loading from various sources.

Apart from these responsibilities, the candidate will implement data governance, security, and privacy best practices within Azure environments. They will collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical specifications.

In addition to these tasks, the candidate will monitor system performance and troubleshoot data pipeline issues, ensuring high availability and uptime. They will automate data workflows and develop scripts using Python, SQL, or other relevant technologies.

To succeed in this role, the candidate should stay updated with the latest Azure data tools and services, applying best practices to optimize data solutions. They will document data architecture, pipelines, and processes for future maintenance and knowledge sharing.

  • Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Data Engineer or similar role, with a focus on Azure cloud platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Database, and related services.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python, and other data scripting languages.
  • Experience with data modeling, ETL/ELT processes, and data warehousing concepts.
  • Familiarity with big data frameworks like Spark, Hadoop, or Databricks is a plus.
  • Understanding of data governance, security, and compliance standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for data workflows.
  • Knowledge of machine learning integrations on Azure.
