Job Summary:

Transportation Coordinators

We are seeking an experienced Transportation Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our logistics department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring timely deliveries and resolving issues that arise during transportation operations.

Your primary responsibilities will include managing schedules, tracking routes, and maintaining accurate records of cargo details. You must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, interacting with diverse stakeholders and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines.

To succeed in this role, you will need strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and proficiency in computer software applications. A background in logistics or dispatching, with experience in the transportation industry, is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Schedule Planning: Create and maintain optimized schedules for truck drivers based on shipment specifications and customer preferences.
  2. Documentation and Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of cargo details, including collection and delivery times, distances traveled, fuel consumption, and any issues or delays experienced.
  3. Problem-Solving and Compliance: Identify and proactively address transportation operation challenges, ensuring adherence to applicable regulations.
  4. Collaboration and Teamwork: Work closely with other departments to streamline processes, boost productivity, and enhance overall service quality.

Requirements:

  • A high school degree or equivalent is required; further education or training in transportation management, logistics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong background in logistics or dispatching, preferably in the transportation industry.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously.
  • Superb communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in computer software applications, including dispatching software, GPS navigation systems, and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Knowledge of transportation regulations, safety standards, and industry best practices.
