Academic Leadership and Principal Development Specialist

The role of the Academic Leadership and Principal Development Specialist is pivotal in driving improvement within schools and enhancing overall academic performance. This position entails overseeing an entire cohort of principals, ensuring effective leadership and management to foster student success. Additionally, the specialist plays a crucial part in managing area administrators, focusing on administrative duties and data analysis.

Maintaining open communication with community members is vital, encouraging resource utilization and fostering positive relationships between parents and schools. Principals are expected to engage effectively with parents and occasionally participate in parent-student meetings, while also maintaining liaison with donors regarding education-related activities when necessary.

Developing and maintaining collaborative working environments is essential, which involves regular communication with Area Education Managers (AEMs) to share best practices and provide constructive feedback, contributing to overall regional development.

A key responsibility of this role is strengthening principal quality through recruitment of high-quality local principals via Assessment Centers, as well as providing regular academic feedback and supporting principals through Performance Improvement Plans (PIP). The role also aims to enhance teacher quality by recruiting high-quality teachers, approving transfers and promotions, and conducting classroom observations to ensure consistency in feedback.Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage schools and their respective cohorts of principals to drive academic performance and student success.
  • Oversee area administrators, focusing on administrative duties and academic data management.
  • Maintain open communication with community members, promoting collaboration and resource sharing.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative working environments among AEMs.
  • Recruit high-quality local principals through Assessment Centers and support them through PIPs.
  • Enhance teacher quality by recruiting high-quality teachers, approving transfers and promotions, and conducting classroom observations.
Requirements:
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, persuasion, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong command over English and Urdu.
  • Proficiency in using computer software (MS Office, Internet, etc.). Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
  • Analytical skills.
