About The Team

The team focuses on enabling persistence storage technologies and taking cloud-native technology to the next level within Careem to shape the future of the platform and drive significant growth.

What You'll Do

- As an engineer, you will build and maintain highly available systems and Kafka clusters, ensuring resilience, reliability, and scalability of services, as well as speeding up deployments to improve products used by millions of customers every day.

- Make an impact from design through development and operation, creating technical processes to simplify and enable engineers across multiple services while identifying and automating systems without compromising security and reliability.

- Participate in on-call rotations and contribute to incident response improvement.

Required Skills and Qualifications

- 5+ years of experience in related fields.

- Expertise in developing, operating, and troubleshooting storage clusters and/or other highly available systems at scale.

- Experience running Kafka on Kubernetes.

- Proficiency in one or more programming languages: Go, Python, Java, Groovy, Scala, Ruby.

- Experience with Cloud Infrastructure (AWS preferred).

- Experience with infrastructure automation (Infrastructure as Code) Strong Unix or Linux background, including topics around network stack and scripting Incident response and/or incident management experience is beneficial.
