Data Systems Specialist


Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer with 2+ years of expertise to design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures. The ideal candidate will have hands-on knowledge of transforming raw data into actionable insights while ensuring the reliability and scalability of data infrastructure.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Data Pipeline Development: Design, build, and maintain reliable ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines to efficiently process large datasets.
  • Data Architecture: Develop and maintain scalable data architectures across structured and unstructured sources, ensuring seamless integration and data quality.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with database developers, analysts, and stakeholders to ensure data needs are met and provide expert advice on data governance and security.
  • Performance Optimization: Optimize data systems for performance, scalability, and reliability, monitoring and troubleshooting data workflows and infrastructure.
  • Data Integration: Integrate data from various sources into centralized databases and data warehouses, maintaining data quality and consistency.
  • Data Support: Work with large datasets to support data science, analytics, and reporting functions, assisting in data migration and consolidation from legacy systems.
  • Security and Governance: Implement and enforce data governance, security, and backup strategies, adhering to industry standards and best practices.

Required Qualifications:
  • Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Professional Experience: 2+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role, with strong knowledge of SQL, data modeling, and relational databases.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, or Scala, experience with ETL tools and data pipeline development.
  • Cloud Platforms: Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or GCP, experience working with large datasets and data warehousing solutions.
  • Data Security: Understanding of data security, privacy regulations, and best practices.

Preferred Skills:
  • Microsoft SQL Server: Experience with Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, and Access.
  • NoSQL Databases: Familiarity with NoSQL databases like MongoDB or Cassandra.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
