Operational Audit Officer Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Operational Audit Officer to join our team. As a key member of our internal audit function, you will be responsible for conducting operational audits to assess the effectiveness of our internal controls and identifying areas for improvement.

The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mind, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. You will also have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present findings and recommendations to management in a clear and concise manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct operational audits to evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of our internal processes and procedures.
  2. Perform stock counting and reconcile inventory records with physical stock to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  3. Evaluate operational processes and recommend measures for increased efficiency and cost savings.
  4. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement audit strategies that align with business objectives.
  5. Prepare detailed reports on audit findings and present recommendations to management to drive improvements.
  6. Stay up-to-date on industry regulations and best practices in operational auditing to ensure we maintain a high level of compliance and risk management.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Strong Analytical Skills: The ability to analyze complex data and identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
  • Excellent Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail and accuracy in all aspects of your work.
  • Good Understanding of Accounting Principles: Knowledge of accounting principles and auditing standards, including GAAP and IFRS.
  • Proficient in MS Office: Strong skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with the ability to create complex spreadsheets and financial models.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present findings and recommendations to management and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to Work Independently: The ability to work independently with minimal supervision, prioritizing tasks and managing your time effectively to meet deadlines.
