About the Role
As a Charge Technologist in Hematology, you will play a vital part in maintaining the smooth operation of the assigned section. Your duties will involve overseeing the administrative and technical aspects of the section, ensuring that all laboratory policies and protocols are adhered to. This role requires strong organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to handle complex tasks and situations.

Main Responsibilities
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
• Coordinating and organizing daily administrative and technical activities in accordance with laboratory procedures and policies.
• Implementing and enforcing laboratory protocol and policy guidelines.
• Managing staffing matters, including attendance, discipline, and counseling, to ensure regular implementation of laboratory and institutional policies.
• Effectively communicating critical results in a timely manner and documenting them as per protocol.
• Conducting routine and STAT clinical laboratory tests or technical procedures and finalizing reports according to laboratory protocols, and authorizing reports of lab tests processed by yourself when necessary.
• Creating duty rotas and approving staff overtime.
• Maintaining compliance with CAP & JCIA standards.

Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this position, you will need:
• A BS / MSC in Biological Science (4 years Program), Masters (preferred).
• 5 years of experience as a Senior Technologist at AKU or 10 years of relevant experience gained at a hospital or
• Comprehensive knowledge of laboratory testing procedures.
• Familiarity with recent advancements in medical technology.
• Strong understanding of employee relations techniques.
