Director Medical Services

• The Director of Medical Services will oversee the overall direction and management of medical departments within an institution.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Establish a collaborative relationship with visiting consultants, providing support in decision-making related to their practice in the hospital.
• Ensure seamless integration of medical resources including personnel, medicine, equipment, and consumables.
• Develop and implement efficient protocols, rules, and procedures for medical services.
• Design and supervise marketing programs for medical services.
• Maintain a positive image of the institution in the medical community, government, media, and international development sector.
• Promote ethical medical practices and ensure patient confidentiality.

Reporting Relationships:

• The Director of Medical Services reports directly to the CEO and also to the Chairman as a member of the management committee when required.

Requirements:

• A degree in Medicine, preferably with a postgraduate qualification in hospital or public health management from a recognized institution.
• A minimum of 8 years experience in hospital administration or management in the government, private, or non-government sector.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• Participative leadership/management thinking and ability to resolve workplace conflicts.
