The Director of Training and Certification is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and management of training programs and certification processes. This position requires a dynamic individual with a strong background in IT training, certification, program management, and vendor management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Training and Certification Management

This includes developing and implementing comprehensive training programs for Red Hat products and solutions, leading the creation and maintenance of certification exams and processes, establishing and maintaining quality assurance processes for training materials and certification exams to ensure consistency and excellence, and defining and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of training programs and certification processes.

Program Development and Management
  • Developing and Managing Training Programs

The Director will develop and manage training and certification programs that meet the strategic goals of the organization, ensuring they are aligned with industry standards and meet the needs of diverse customers. This involves coordinating multiple projects simultaneously, efficiently allocating resources to various programs, and maintaining clear and consistent communication with stakeholders to ensure program objectives are understood and met.

Vendor Management and Strategic Leadership
  • Managing Vendor Relationships and Negotiating Contracts

The Director will manage relationships with external training and certification vendors, negotiate contracts, monitor and evaluate vendor performance, and collaborate with vendors to develop and enhance training materials and certification exams. Additionally, the Director will lead and mentor a team of training and certification professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture, and engage with internal and external stakeholders to gather feedback and ensure training and certification programs meet their needs.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Education

A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Education, Business Administration, or a related field is required, with a master's degree preferred. A minimum of 10 years of experience in IT training and certification, with at least 5 years in a leadership role, is also required.

  • Experience

Proven experience in managing vendor relationships and negotiating contracts, as well as strong program management skills with a track record of successfully leading complex programs. Strong project management skills with a track record of successfully leading complex projects are also essential.

  • Skills

Strategic Planning: Ability to develop and execute strategic plans that align with organizational goals. Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop staff. Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions. Technical Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of Red Hat technologies and solutions, as well as industry standards for IT training and certification. Quality Assurance: Experience in establishing and maintaining quality assurance processes for training and certification programs.

Certifications
  • Relevant Certifications

Certifications in Red Hat technologies or other IT certifications are highly desirable.
