The Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences at a prestigious academic institution is seeking an experienced leader to drive the growth of clinical services, academic programs, and research initiatives.
This role requires a high level of expertise in ophthalmic subspecialties and a proven track record of delivering quality patient-centered care. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing strategic plans, leading curriculum innovation, and advancing research excellence.
A key aspect of this role is mentoring and evaluating faculty, as well as representing the department in university governance and national forums. Additionally, collaboration with the Advancement Office on donor stewardship and fundraising is essential.
- Required Qualifications:
- Recognized qualification in Ophthalmology (FCPS, FRCS, FRCOphth, American Board, or equivalent);
- Eligible for appointment as Associate or Full Professor;
- Minimum 5 - 7 years of leadership experience in an academic medical setting;
- Proven excellence in clinical care, teaching, curriculum innovation, and research;
- National/international recognition in ophthalmology;
- Demonstrated commitment to mentoring and faculty development;
- Strategic vision to elevate the department's regional and global reputation;
- Ability to collaborate effectively and empower high performance teamwork;
