Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Mental Health Specialist to join our community outreach team. The successful candidate will provide mental health and psychosocial support services, including individual and group counselling and psychotherapy, to diverse populations in challenging environments.

Main Tasks And Responsibilities
  1. Deliver evidence-based psychological services to clients and their families with mental health conditions and psychosocial issues, adhering to national and international guidelines on best practices related to mental health and psychosocial support.
  2. Pursue ongoing clinical and supportive supervision to ensure continuous learning and improvement.
  3. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care and achieve shared objectives.
  4. Design and facilitate trainings for staff on topics relevant to psychological practice and case management, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.
  5. Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with clients, ensuring that their needs and goals are addressed.
  6. Conduct risk assessments and provide guidance on carrying out risk assessments and developing safety plans, prioritizing client safety and well-being.
  7. Stay current with advances in the field of psychology, incorporating new knowledge and techniques into practice.
  8. Pursue professional development opportunities to enhance skills and expertise.
  9. Perform additional duties as requested by Supervisor, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
Minimum Qualifications
  1. A Master's degree in psychology or equivalent, along with a license to practice psychology, is mandatory.
  2. Experience working with non-governmental organizations (NGOs) is preferred.
  3. At least 3 years of experience in mental health is desired.
  4. Mastery of at least one psychotherapy technique is essential.
  5. Knowledge of human rights, particularly as they relate to individuals with mental health and psychosocial concerns, is an asset.
  6. Proficiency in computer software, including Microsoft Office, is required.
  7. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
  8. The ability to work effectively under pressure in resource-constrained environments is essential.
  9. Strong capacity to work in a multi-ethnic environment, promoting cultural sensitivity and understanding.
  10. Demonstrated interest in ongoing learning and professional development is crucial.
  11. Proficiency in Arabic and English languages is mandatory.
