Backend Developer for Data Modernization

We are seeking a highly skilled Backend Developer to join our team and contribute to the modernization of our data platform. As a key member of our Delivery team, you will be responsible for building secure backend APIs and integrating data layers to enable direct distributor data submissions and drive automated reporting and analytics.


  • Lead multidimensional projects involving backend API development, secure data handling, and Azure integration.
  • Develop secure, scalable backend services using FastAPI or Flask, with strong focus on file validation and authentication.
  • Build and maintain RESTful APIs for file upload, schema validation, and real-time tracking.
  • Implement secure access controls and integrate with Azure Entra ID (B2C) and OAuth2.
  • Integrate backend services with Azure Blob Storage, Databricks, and Snowflake.
  • Participate in design best practices and conduct detailed code reviews.
  • Facilitate cross-functional debugging, root cause analysis, and production support when needed.
  • Collaborate with front-end, DevOps, and QA engineers to ensure end-to-end delivery of platform components.
  • Contribute to infrastructure provisioning and CI/CD pipeline automation using GitHub Actions.
  • Ensure operational excellence through observability, alerting, and performance tuning.
  • Mentor junior developers and promote technical growth across the team.

Requirements
  • Proficiency in Python, with production experience in FastAPI or Flask frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of Azure services, especially Blob Storage, App Services, Key Vault, and Azure AD B2C.
  • Experience building and securing APIs with OAuth2, JWT, and role-based access control.
  • Familiarity with Databricks and Snowflake, particularly in the context of data integration pipelines.
  • Knowledge of CSV data handling, schema validation, and business rule enforcement.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines, ideally using GitHub Actions.
  • Solid understanding of containerized deployments (Docker); experience with Kubernetes is a plus.
  • Strong SQL skills and knowledge of relational data modeling and transformation.
  • Familiarity with cloud-native architecture and modern security practices.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in distributed teams.
  • 5+ years of professional experience in backend/API development, preferably in data or cloud-heavy enterprise environments.
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
