Job Description

The Aga Khan University Hospital operates a network of hospitals, medical centres and clinical laboratories across Pakistan. Our outreach services provide primary to secondary healthcare services to patients in their local communities. Outpatient medical centres offer specialist clinics including family medicine, internal medicine and more.

Responsibilities
  • Dispense medications in pharmacies for patients in hospital, outpatient and ambulatory settings.
  • Review and process physician orders for accurate dosing.
  • Monitor laboratory reports for proper indication of antibiotics and potential drug interactions.
  • Deliver medications to nursing units and patients in a timely manner.
  • Verify the accuracy of medication labels before dispensing.
  • Maintain accurate records of medication expiry dates.
  • Counsel patients on prescription medication and maintain cash transactions.
  • Pprepare sterile injections, bulk compounding and monitor chemotherapy lists.
  • Manage inventory and expiration of products.
Requirements
  • A Doctorate or Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy from a recognized university.
  • Experience as a pharmacist in a retail pharmacy, medium or large hospital setting is preferred.
  • Familiarity with hospital pharmacy operations.
  • Strong knowledge of physiology, pharmacology and pharmaceuticals.
  • Familiarity with locally available drugs, their indications and uses.
  • Effective communication skills to interact with medical professionals.
  • Ability to work flexible hours.
