Overview

This role is responsible for creating detailed piping layouts, isometric drawings, and pipe support drawings using AutoCAD or similar software.

Piping Designer/Draftsman Role Summary

The successful candidate will be working closely with mechanical, civil, electrical, and process teams to ensure alignment and clash-free design. Key responsibilities include developing and updating P&IDs, plot plans, general arrangements (GAs), and fabrication drawings, as well as coordinating site surveys and participating in design reviews.

Key Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of experience in piping design and drafting, preferably in oil & gas, petrochemical, etc.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Plant 3D, CADWorx, PDMS, SP3D, or other 2D/3D modeling tools.
  • Familiarity with ASME B31.1/B31.3, ISO, ANSI, and other piping codes.
  • Strong understanding of piping materials, fittings, valves, and fabrication practices.

  • Interpret engineering specifications, piping material specifications, and vendor drawings.
  • Participate in design reviews, model walk-throughs, and site surveys as required.
  • Evaluate compliance with relevant industry codes and standards.
  • Generate material take-offs (MTOs) and assist with procurement documentation.

  • 5–10 years of hands-on experience in piping design and drafting, preferably in oil & gas, petrochemical, etc.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Plant 3D, CADWorx, PDMS, SP3D, or other 2D/3D modeling tools.

  • Experience with BIM coordination and clash detection tools is an advantage.
