Senior UI Artist Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior UI Artist to lead the creation of visually captivating and immersive user interfaces for our games.

You will collaborate closely with designers, developers, and artists to bring engaging UI experiences to life while maintaining consistency with the game's artistic vision and gameplay mechanics.

This role is a key contributor to the success of our games, requiring a deep understanding of UI design principles, game development, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Main Responsibilities:
  • UI Design and Implementation: Design and implement high-quality UI elements, including menus, icons, buttons, HUDs, and interactive components, to enhance the gaming experience.
  • Artistic Direction: Establish and maintain the artistic direction of the UI, ensuring alignment with the game's aesthetics, narrative, and target audience.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with game designers to create intuitive, accessible, and engaging UI while optimizing for different platforms.
  • Animated UI Elements: Oversee the development of animated UI elements, transitions, and tooltips to improve immersion and gameplay fluidity.
  • Seamless Integration: Work closely with designers, developers, 3D artists, and sound designers to ensure seamless UI integration.
  • User Testing and Feedback: Conduct usability tests, analyze player feedback, and refine UI designs for better player engagement.
  • Technical Optimization: Optimize UI assets to meet performance and technical requirements while maintaining high visual standards across platforms.
Requirements:
  • Experience: 4 to 5 years of professional experience as a UI Artist in the gaming industry, with a strong portfolio showcasing UI design for multiple game projects across different platforms.
  • Game Engines and Tools: Hands-on experience working with game engines such as Unity, Unreal Engine, and UI development tools.
  • Design Skills: Expertise in composition, color theory, typography, iconography, and layout design to create visually compelling UI that aligns with the game's style and narrative.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.), UI prototyping tools (Figma, Sketch, XD), and motion graphics tools for UI animations.
  • Leadership: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve UI-related challenges while maintaining efficiency and artistic quality, and experience guiding junior UI artists, providing feedback, and contributing to team growth and best practices.

Skill Set: Strong portfolio, game engine expertise, design skills, software proficiency, leadership, teamwork, communication, problem-solving, creativity, attention to detail, time management, and adaptability.
