General Counsel

Chisty Law Chambers Limited seeks an experienced General Counsel to lead our legal team and provide expert guidance and support our business operations.

Responsibilities:
  1. Lead the Legal Team: Supervise and guide the legal team to ensure they have the necessary resources to perform their duties effectively.
  2. Deliver Expert Legal Advice: Provide expert advice on contracts, compliance, and regulations to ensure seamless business operations.
  3. Develop and Review Legal Documents: Create, review, and negotiate agreements, contracts, and policies that meet company needs.
  4. Verify Compliance: Ensure that company operations comply with relevant laws and regulations, minimizing the risk of non-compliance.
  5. Represent the Organization: Liaise with external legal counsel and represent the organization in legal matters as needed.
  6. Stay Updated on Legal Developments: Remain informed on relevant legal developments and conduct thorough research to provide informed advice.
  7. Assess and Mitigate Risks: Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, protecting the organization from legal liabilities.
Qualifications:
  1. Law Degree: A Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB) is required, while a Master's degree in Law (LLM) is preferred.
  2. Proven Experience: A proven track record in a similar role is essential for this position.
  3. Exceptional Knowledge of Corporate Law: A strong understanding of corporate law, labor law, and regulatory frameworks is necessary.
  4. Strong Analytical Skills: The ability to analyze complex situations and develop effective solutions is crucial.
  5. Excellent Leadership Skills: Strong leadership skills are required to effectively supervise and guide the legal team.
  6. Ability to Work Under Pressure: The ability to work efficiently under pressure and handle complex legal issues is essential.
