**Job Title:** Data Management Specialist

A successful Database Administrator will be responsible for the performance, integrity, and security of a database. Key responsibilities include planning and development of the database, troubleshooting issues, and transforming data for reporting and migration needs.

The role involves:

  1. Installing and maintaining databases to ensure optimal performance
  2. Developing processes to optimize database security
  3. Establishing and maintaining database standards
  4. Creating and managing database reports, visualizations, and dashboards
  5. Creating and managing data warehouses for custom reports using third-party APIs
  6. Guaranteeing secure and optimal data storage
  7. Managing database access
  8. Tuning database system performance
  9. Installing, upgrading, and managing database applications
  10. Implementing high-speed transaction recovery techniques and backup data
  11. Minimizing database downtime and optimizing query responses
  12. Detecting and troubleshooting database errors/queries
  13. Recommending and implementing emerging database technologies
  14. Creating automation for repeating database tasks

The ideal candidate must possess:

Database Administrator Qualifications/Skills:

  • A strong command of SQL and SQL server tools
  • Advanced knowledge of database security, backup, recovery, and performance monitoring standards
  • An understanding of relational and dimensional data modeling
  • Strong mathematical and statistical knowledge
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Impeccable attention to detail

The successful candidate should have:

Education and Experience Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field
  2. Three to five years of experience in database administration, information technology, database architecture, or a related field
  3. Proven working experience as a Database Administrator
  4. Hands-on experience with database standards and end-user applications
  5. Excellent knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity, and SQL
  6. Familiarity with database design, documentation, and coding
  7. Experience with Windows Server environments (required) and Linux Server environments (optional)
  8. Extensive experience with database technologies, including MS SQL (required) and MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, MongoDB (optional)
  9. Experience with cloud services, such as AWS and Microsoft Azure, is a plus
