Web Application Developer

We are seeking a skilled Web Application Developer to design and develop innovative, reusable web-based tools for progressive online activism and community building. As part of our development team, you will work closely with project managers, strategists, and designers to develop specifications and make recommendations on the use of new technologies.

About the Role
  • Collaborate with project managers and the development team to create detailed specification documents with clear project deliverables and timelines.
  • Develop project estimates during the sales process, including expertise required, total number of people required, and total development hours required.
  • Participate in client meetings during the sales process and development phases.
  • Work with clients and project managers to build and refine graphic designs for websites, requiring strong skills in Photoshop, Fireworks, or equivalent applications.
  • Convert raw images and layouts from graphic designers into CSS/XHTML themes.
  • Determine suitable architecture and technical solutions, making relevant recommendations to clients.
  • Communicate project progress and delays to project managers with efficiency and accuracy, engaging in outside-the-box thinking to provide high value-of-service to clients.
  • Alert colleagues to emerging technologies and opportunities to integrate them into operations and activities.
  • Contribute regularly to the development community of your chosen CMS.
  • Develop innovative web-based tools for activism and community building.

Skillset: Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, HTML/CSS, and experience with database administration is essential. Familiarity with design principles and ability to work with graphic designers to implement visually appealing website designs is also required.
