Oracle Database Administrator Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Junior Oracle Database Administrator to join our team. This role involves managing and maintaining Oracle databases, ensuring high performance, security, and reliability.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of database administration, backup and recovery, disaster recovery, and performance monitoring requirements.

  • Proficiency in SQL and database tools
  • Advanced knowledge of database security, backup and recovery, Disaster Recovery and performance monitoring requirements
  • Familiarity with PowerShell and Unix shell scripting
  • Knowledge of Linux and Windows Server infrastructures
  • Thorough understanding of database technologies (MySQL, Oracle)
  • Experience with database patching using opatch and opatchauto
  • Understanding of Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC), ASM, and Active Data Guard
Job Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining Oracle databases
  • Developing and implementing database backups and disaster recovery strategies
  • Optimizing database performance by fine-tuning database settings
  • Troubleshooting and resolving database-related issues
  • Developing, implementing, and managing database security policies and procedures
  • Working closely with team members to ensure database operation and integrity
