Academic Accommodations and Accessibility Leader
The Office of Accessibility and Inclusion invites applications for an Academic Accommodations and Accessibility Leader to join the team. The position will serve to operationalize the commitment to providing support to students with disabilities, in accordance with relevant policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and Implement Policies: Develop, implement, review, and revise practices, services, and policies related to the delivery of Academic Accommodations and Accessibility.
- Inclusive Campus Experience: Collaborate with team members and other departments to devise and implement plans to make the experience at the university more inclusive for both students and staff.
- Coordination and Communication: Oversee coordination between students, the Office of Accessibility and Inclusion, the Accessibility Committee, and facilitators of students/employees with disabilities.
- Website Maintenance: Prepare, maintain, and update website material related to Academic Accommodations and Accessibility.
- Quality Assessment: Develop and implement quality-based assessment processes to improve the Academic Accommodation program's progress.
- Technological Enhancements: Design and incorporate technological changes and process enhancements in support of Academic Accommodations.
- Accommodation Effectiveness: Maintain records of interactions with students with disabilities and analyze effectiveness of accommodations; compile reports and analyze data related to accommodations, compliance, and program efficacy.
- Program Evaluation: Collect and maintain data to evaluate and measure the success of the program; review and evaluate assistive technologies and research, while keeping a focus on learning alternatives for students with disabilities.
- Awareness Campaigns: Develop and deliver awareness campaigns, workshops, and mandatory trainings across the campus community, building an inclusive environment where everyone feels safe and welcomed.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Microsoft Office Suite: Understanding of the core functions of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Research Fundamentals: Grasp of concepts and techniques in both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies.
- Communication: Ability to convey information clearly and effectively in both written and spoken forms.
- Time Management and Organization: Capacity to plan activities, meet deadlines, and keep work structured.
- Interpersonal Communication: Collaborating effectively with others, including building relationships and resolving conflicts.
- Prioritization and Multitasking: Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, identifying urgent tasks and juggling responsibilities.
- Attention to Detail: Thoroughness and accuracy in completing tasks.
- Adaptability: Can handle pressure and maintain performance in tight deadline situations.

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field of study, preferably education, psychology, or social sciences.
Experience:
At least 5 years of relevant experience in educational contexts.
