Database Infrastructure Manager

The Database Infrastructure Manager oversees and manages the entire database infrastructure, ensuring security, availability, and performance of databases, maintaining compliance, and integrating systems.

This position requires at least a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or IT with a minimum of 10 years of experience in Oracle ERP and CC&B Database Administration.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop Strategic Plans: Create and implement plans for database infrastructure to ensure scalability, reliability, and performance.
  2. Design High-Availability Systems: Build high-availability and quality database systems tailored to end-user requirements.
  3. Align with IT Strategy: Set goals aligned with IT and organizational strategies.
  4. Manage User Access: Define user access and enable timely data distribution in appropriate formats.
  5. Collaborate with Architecture Team: Collaborate with the architecture team to align database designs with IT standards.
  6. Implement Performance Monitoring: Implement performance monitoring, tuning, and optimization strategies.
  7. Lead Database Administration Team: Provide leadership to the Database Administration team, fostering development and training.
  8. Plan for Database Scalability: Plan for database scalability to support organizational growth.
  9. Establish Database Security Protocols: Establish and enforce database security protocols, ensuring compliance.
  10. Work with Security Team: Work with the security team to enhance database security measures.
  11. Develop Disaster Recovery Plans: Develop and manage disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  12. Manage Vendor Relationships: Manage vendor relationships and stay updated on technological advancements.
  13. Develop Department Budget: Develop and manage the department budget for cost-effective resource utilization.
  14. Plan Data Recovery Drills: Plan and execute Data Recovery Drills and synchronize data across SSGC DR sites.
  15. Motivate and Train Teams: Motivate and train teams to keep pace with technological changes.
  16. Manage Change Activities: Plan change activities and manage changes according to IT policies.
  17. Prepare Technical Tender Documents: Prepare technical tender documents and assist in bid evaluations.
  18. Coordinate with Auditors: Coordinate with internal, external, and government auditors and implement recommendations.
  19. Ensure Compliance: Ensure compliance with SLAs and license compliance for critical systems and projects.
  20. Undertake Additional Tasks: Undertake additional tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
