Job Title: Production Optimization Specialist

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive production plans to meet organizational objectives. To achieve this, you will oversee both Capacity Resource Planning (CRP) and Material Requirements Planning (MRP) functions to ensure timely material procurement and optimal resource utilization.

This position demands strong analytical skills, effective coordination with multiple departments, and the ability to handle complex planning processes in a dynamic production environment. You will work closely with procurement, quality, and production departments to ensure alignment with operational goals and communicate seamlessly with sales and marketing teams to incorporate customer demand into production planning.

  1. Production Planning Strategy:
  • Develop and implement production plans to optimize resource allocation and minimize costs.
  • Establish and maintain accurate production schedules based on resource availability, demand forecasts, and capacity constraints.
  • Monitor production performance against plans and make recommendations for improvement.
Capacity Resource Planning (CRP):
  • Analyze production capacity requirements to meet changing demands and adjust accordingly.
  • Collaborate with operations and HR departments to address manpower, equipment, and facility needs.
  • Maximize machine utilization rates while ensuring minimum downtime.
Material Requirements Planning (MRP):
  • Manage material planning and procurement to maintain optimal inventory levels and minimize waste and stockouts.
  • Liaise with procurement and suppliers to ensure timely material delivery and maintain good relationships.
  • Conduct regular reviews of material usage and adjust inventory policies as needed.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Work closely with procurement, quality, and production departments to ensure alignment with operational goals.
  • Communicate seamlessly with sales and marketing teams to incorporate customer demand into production planning.
  • Coordinate with logistics teams to manage material flows and optimize supply chain efficiency.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
  • Track and analyze KPIs related to production, capacity, and material management.
  • Present regular reports to senior management, highlighting areas for improvement and potential bottlenecks.
  • Maintain and update planning software tools to enhance forecasting and scheduling accuracy.
Continuous Process Improvement:
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance planning accuracy and reduce costs.
  • Develop contingency plans to mitigate risks in production and material supply chains.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and integrate them into planning functions.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 8-9 years of experience in production planning, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
  • Proficiency in MRP/ERP systems and production planning tools.
  • Strong understanding of CRP, MRP, and supply chain principles.
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel and data analysis.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively.
