Senior Software Engineer Job Description

The role of a Senior Software Engineer involves leading the development and maintenance of software systems, ensuring they are efficient, secure, and meet customer requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze business needs and estimate project timelines
  • Design, develop, and test software applications using various programming languages
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve project goals and objectives
  • Implement code review processes to ensure high-quality software delivery
  • Maintain existing systems by troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
  • Update issue tracking tools to monitor progress and identify areas for improvement
  • Communicate project status and progress to stakeholders
  • Develop skills in new technologies to enhance software development processes
  • Lead a team of software engineers and provide training and guidance
  • Evaluate candidates for open positions within the company

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
  • Four years of experience in software engineering, with a strong focus on PHP, MVC frameworks, and Yii
  • Strong knowledge of WordPress, JavaScript, and RESTful APIs
  • Understanding of database design and implementation, including relational and schemaless databases like MySQL
  • Experience with unit testing and achieving high test coverage rates
  • Proficiency in collaboration tools, such as GitHub and JIRA
