Family Law Attorney Job Description

Magnolia Law is a proud female-owned law firm dedicated to serving families in East Baton Rouge Parish and surrounding areas. Our primary focus is family law, complemented by limited estate planning services.

We are committed to providing compassionate, knowledgeable, and effective legal support to our clients during challenging times. Our team believes in fostering a supportive environment where clients feel understood and empowered to make informed decisions.

We handle a range of legal matters, including divorces, custody disputes, child support, community property issues, domestic violence cases, successions, last wills and testaments, and medical directives.

The ideal candidate will have at least one year of legal experience, with family law experience preferred but not required. We are seeking an attorney who shares our passion for helping families and aligns with our values of integrity, compassion, and dedication.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, including trial if needed.
  • Draft petitions, motions, discovery, community property settlements, judgments, and all pleadings associated with family law matters.

Our top priorities are making sure clients feel fully supported and receive optimal, cost-effective legal assistance. As an Associate Attorney, you will be required to be independent in your work, but also collaborate as a team player.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Must be licensed, active, and in good standing with the Louisiana State Bar Association.
  • Ability to learn quickly.
  • Experience with Dropbox, MS Office 365, and Clio, or ability to learn quickly.
  • Stellar writing skills – a writing sample will be required.
  • Willingness to be coached.
  • Passion for empowering clients with information to make knowledgeable decisions.
  • Commitment to meet 1200 hours a year billable hour requirements.
