Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented professional to fill the role of Computer Systems Technician. This position requires strong technical skills, excellent organizational abilities, and a commitment to ensuring a safe and productive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintain and organize computer labs to ensure they are fully operational.
  2. Inventory, procure, and manage computer hardware, software, and peripherals.
  3. Assist in setting up and configuring computers, servers, and network devices.
  4. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize disruptions.
  5. Provide technical support to students and faculty in the computer labs.
  6. Assist with software installations, updates, and licensing management.
  7. Troubleshoot hardware and software problems, ensuring timely resolutions.
  8. Implement and enforce safety protocols in the computer labs.
  9. Ensure compliance with relevant policies, licensing agreements, and security guidelines.
  10. Perform regular maintenance and preventive measures on computer equipment.
  11. Coordinate and oversee repairs or servicing by external vendors when necessary.
  12. Provide training and assistance to students and faculty in using computer lab resources.
  13. Offer guidance on software applications and basic troubleshooting.
  14. Maintain accurate records of hardware and software inventory.
  15. Document lab procedures, guidelines, and troubleshooting solutions.
  16. Assist in maintaining data security and integrity within the computer labs.
  17. Monitor cybersecurity threats and report any suspicious activities.
  18. Collaborate with faculty to support research initiatives that require specialized lab equipment or software.
  19. Work closely with the IT department for infrastructure and network-related tasks.
