Job Overview

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of user experience design principles and be able to translate them into intuitive and engaging product experiences. They will work closely with cross-functional teams to understand business goals and customer needs, and develop design solutions that meet those needs.


The role requires a high degree of creativity, technical skills, and attention to detail. The designer must be able to balance multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines while maintaining the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities:
  1. Evaluate user requirements in collaboration with product managers, design managers, and engineers to ensure alignment with business objectives and customer needs.
  2. Craft beautiful designs and delightful, useful, and usable experiences, leveraging strengths in visual design, interaction, and product design.
  3. Own design projects from start to finish, leading UX initiatives including design sprints, exploring user problems, content mapping, sketching, wireframing, low and high fidelity prototyping, and leading stakeholder reviews.
  4. Ship valuable and high-quality work without sacrificing speed by prioritizing tasks effectively and meeting deadlines.
  5. Build user interface elements using Material Design base components and develop UI mockups and prototypes that clearly illustrate how flows function and look.
  6. Prepare and present rough user flows and wireframes to internal teams and key stakeholders, identifying and troubleshooting UX problems along the way.
  7. Conduct layout adjustments based on user feedback and adhere to style standards on fonts, colors, and interface elements.
  8. Collaborate with product managers, customer support agents, and other stakeholders to develop empathy for users and advocate for their needs, using data to inform design decisions.

Qualifications

  • Proven work experience as a UX/UI Designer or similar role in high-tech, payments, e-commerce, or SaaS software companies
  • Portfolio of design projects showcasing ability to solve complex user experience challenges
  • Passion for solving product problems while balancing all facets of a user experience (strategy and research, information architecture, interaction design)
  • Deep understanding of the end-to-end iterative design process including design research, journey mapping, wireframing, prototyping, user testing, and high-fidelity visuals
  • Proficiency in interaction design for mobile and web, proficiency with design and collaboration tools such as Figma, Jira, Confluence
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, good time-management skills, BSc in Design, Computer Science, or relevant field, experience mentoring designers and leading critiques
