Job Description

We're seeking an experienced Data Engineer to join our team. This is a critical role that requires strong technical skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.

The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, building, and optimizing batch and incremental jobs to move data from source to warehouse using clear, testable logic. They will also create and maintain dimensional and canonical data models that support BI dashboards and machine learning use cases.

In addition, they will monitor Airflow/Cloud Composer jobs, set up alerts, and manage incident responses to ensure data SLAs are met. The ideal candidate will have experience with Snowflake and/or BigQuery, Apache Airflow or Cloud Composer, and Python for scripting and pipeline development.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 2–4 years in data engineering, data warehousing, or related fields
  • SQL: Advanced skills including window functions and query plan analysis
  • ETL / ELT: Strong understanding of ingest, transform, and load processes in cloud ecosystems
  • Warehouses: Experience with Snowflake and/or BigQuery (schemas, roles, resource management)
  • Orchestration: Hands-on with Apache Airflow or Cloud Composer (DAG design, scheduling, sensors)
  • Data Modeling: Familiarity with star/snowflake schemas, SCDs, and normalization trade-offs
  • Coding: Proficiency in Python (or equivalent) for scripting and pipeline development
  • Communication: Clear, fluent English for presenting technical ideas to clients and internal teams
