About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to lead the design and implementation of scalable, secure, and high-performance data platforms using Microsoft Fabric technologies including OneLake, Synapse, Data Factory, and Power BI.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect and lead the development of modern data platforms using Microsoft Fabric components like OneLake, Data Factory, Dataflows, and Synapse Data Engineering.
  • Define and implement best practices in data modeling (Lakehouse, star/snowflake schemas), performance tuning, and pipeline orchestration.
  • Build and optimize large-scale ETL/ELT processes using Spark, SQL, and Data Factory pipelines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including analytics, product, and IT to gather requirements and deliver impactful data solutions.
  • Implement enterprise data governance, data lineage, and metadata management strategies.
  • Develop and enforce CI/CD practices for data pipeline deployment.
  • Mentor junior data engineers and contribute to the development of engineering standards and frameworks.
  • Stay current with Microsoft Fabric innovations and lead adoption of new tools, features, and architectures across the data team.
  • Ensure compliance with data security policies, privacy laws, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, with at least 2+ years using Microsoft Fabric.
  • Expert-level skills in SQL, PySpark, and data wrangling at scale.
  • Deep experience with Microsoft Azure services: Synapse, Data Factory, ADLS, Azure SQL, and Power BI.
  • Strong knowledge of Lakehouse architecture and working with OneLake or Delta Lake.
  • Experience managing enterprise-scale data systems and mission-critical production environments.
  • Hands-on knowledge of data governance, lineage (e.g., Purview), and cataloging tools.
  • Strong understanding of modern data architecture principles, including event-driven data ingestion, real-time processing, and batch workflows.
  • Minimum bachelor's degree in computer science or any other relevant degree.
  • Exceptional communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Microsoft Certified: Fabric-specific certifications.
  • Experience in highly regulated environments.
  • Familiarity with AI/ML integration and serving models via data pipelines.
  • Leadership experience in Agile or Scrum-based teams.
