The role of a Relationship Manager is pivotal in establishing and maintaining strong relationships with clients, overseeing the SME lending portfolio, and identifying new business opportunities in the market.

This involves contributing to building a profitable SME asset portfolio, ensuring timely loan processing, and delivering exceptional customer service to enhance client satisfaction and retention.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and acquire new clients who require financial solutions.
  • Conduct comprehensive needs assessments of clients and develop credit proposals based on their repayment potential.
  • Support the credit proposal approval process by collaborating with risk and credit administration teams to ensure adherence to company policies.
  • Maintain robust relationships with clients by providing high-quality customer service and addressing their inquiries promptly.
  • Assist senior management in presenting credit proposals at management and board levels.
  • Collaborate with internal teams such as Risk, CAD, and Product Development to ensure seamless loan processing and service delivery.
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of all client documentation, including mortgage and legal formalities.
  • Monitor the performance of the assigned portfolio, identifying any potential risks or problematic accounts early and implementing solutions.
  • Contribute to expanding the business in the assigned territory by acquiring new clients and retaining existing ones.
  • Maintain up-to-date records through regular reporting and MIS management.
Essential Skills / Knowledge Areas
  • Strong business development and client management skills.
  • A deep understanding of SME and microfinance sector trends and requirements.
  • The ability to analyze financial statements and assess cash-flow-based repayment capacity.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and management information systems (MIS).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Eligibility Criteria

Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline from a reputable institution.

  • Up to 3 years of experience in the commercial/SME banking industry.
