Tax Compliance Specialist

The Tax Accountant role is a critical position that ensures the company's tax obligations are met in accordance with UAE tax laws, including VAT, corporate tax, and excise duties. This involves preparing and filing tax returns, conducting tax reconciliations, analyzing tax liabilities, and staying updated with UAE tax regulations. By maintaining accurate records and advising on tax matters, this role helps minimize risks, ensure regulatory compliance, and support strategic financial planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare and file VAT returns, ensuring compliance with UAE Federal Tax Authority (FTA) regulations.
  2. Manage corporate tax calculations, filings, and submissions as per UAE tax laws.
  3. Monitor and handle excise tax obligations if applicable to specific vehicle imports.
  4. Ensure timely payment of taxes and maintain accurate tax records for audits.


Tax Planning & Advisory

This role involves analyzing tax implications on vehicle sales, leasing, and imports/exports, and advising on tax-efficient strategies related to automobile trading and financing. It also assists in structuring tax-efficient international transactions for vehicle imports and exports. Additionally, it supports internal and external tax audits by preparing and providing necessary documentation.

Reconciliations & Audits

Regular tax reconciliations between accounting records and tax returns are performed, and proper record-keeping of tax invoices, customs declarations, and supporting documents is ensured. The role also involves staying updated with UAE tax law changes, FTA updates, and new compliance requirements, and implementing best practices for tax documentation and reporting.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

A Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. Three or more years of tax accounting experience, preferably in the automobile industry or trading sector in the UAE, is also required. Strong knowledge of UAE VAT laws, corporate tax regulations, and FTA compliance is essential. Proficiency in accounting and tax software, such as SAP, Oracle, or Zoho, is also necessary. Analytical thinking, attention to detail, and strong communication skills are also required.
