Network Technician Role

This role involves ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of network communications equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Troubleshoot, test, repair, maintain, and install central office and network communications equipment.
- Locate and repair copper and fiber-optic communication cables in business and residential areas.
Key Qualifications:
- Prior experience with telecommunications networks and equipment, including fiber splicing, is required.
- Familiarity with SONET-based, long-haul, and metro transport networks, as well as next-generation DWDM wavelength systems, is preferred.
- An associate's degree in electronics or telecommunications, or equivalent, is desirable.
- Proficiency in common computer applications, DC power, telco grounding standards, small hand tools, and telecommunications testing equipment is necessary.
- Training or certification related to IP networking is recommended.
- The ability to lift up to 100 pounds and work independently is essential.
- A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
Work Environment:
This position may require performing physically demanding tasks in various weather conditions and temperatures, as well as extensive daytime and nighttime travel throughout the geographic area.
