Operations Manager Job

This position involves overseeing the daily operations of a power plant, ensuring maximum efficiency and reliability. Key responsibilities include implementing standard policies and procedures, setting training standards for personnel, and maintaining equipment condition records.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Policy Implementation: Establish and implement operational policies and procedures according to company requirements.
  • Training and Development: Set and maintain the operations qualification and specific training standard needed for personnel.
  • Maintenance Coordination: Work with maintenance supervisors to ensure equipment is in good working condition, perform scheduled overhauls, and prepare necessary documentation.
  • Reporting and Budgeting: Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operations/production reports and assist in preparing annual operating plans and budgets.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Understand and comply with Power Purchase Agreements (PPA) and related clauses.
  • Operational Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve plant operations, enhance reliability, and maximize equipment lifespan, providing feedback to management.

Requirements:

  • Location: The position is based in Rawalpindi, Pakistan.
  • Educational Background: A Mechanical Engineering degree from a recognized institution, with mandatory registration with the Pakistan Engineering Council.
  • Experience: Minimum 7 years of experience in similar roles, with hands-on experience in HFO power plant operations and maintenance management tools like Maximo.
  • Engine Experience: Prior experience with Wartsila W46 engines is advantageous.
  • Workplace Safety: Understanding of workplace safety protocols and practices.

  • ICT Skills: Proficiency in using ICT equipment and applications.
