About the Job

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical engineering information and interpretation of plans, detail sheets, and specifications for contractors. This will involve continually finding solutions to conflicts in structural/architectural/mechanical/electrical drawings and specifications by conferring with Senior Engineers. The role also requires coordinating these solutions with various sub-trades and ensuring construction work complies with all engineering standards, codes, specifications, and design instructions.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide technical engineering information and interpretation of plans, detail sheets, and specifications for contractors.
  2. Continually find solutions to conflicts in structural/architectural/mechanical/electrical drawings and specifications by conferring with Senior Engineers.
  3. Coordinate inspections with Senior Engineers and authorities as required by the contract.
  4. Inspect false work for conformance to design drawings.
  5. Monitor installation of rebar for conformance to structural drawings.
  6. Assist Project Manager by enforcing quality control, expediting subcontractors.
  7. Continually update drawings with changes as issued by Senior Engineers.
  8. Review shop drawings for conformance with the contract and ensure information is communicated to Project staff and Project Manager.
  9. Identify contract document conflicts and recommend solutions.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of construction methods and be able to develop good construction management skills. You should also be able to present yourself as a candidate for promotion by learning and understanding construction methods and developing good construction management skills.
