Procurement Lead

The ideal candidate will develop procurement strategies that drive cost savings and improve efficiency.

This role involves identifying suppliers and vendors from the Chagai district and Balochistan regions to build a local presence where required.

The Procurement Lead will negotiate with suppliers and vendors to secure advantageous terms, review existing contracts to ensure ongoing feasibility, and build long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop Procurement Strategies: Drive cost savings and improve efficiency through inventive procurement strategies.
  • Sourcing Suppliers: Identify reliable suppliers and vendors from Chagai district and Balochistan regions.
  • Negotiation: Secure advantageous terms with suppliers and vendors.
  • Contract Review: Ensure ongoing feasibility of existing contracts.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain long-term relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Purchase Order Approval: Approve purchase orders and organize delivery of goods and services.
  • Risk Assessment: Perform risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements.
  • Budget Control: Control procurement budget and promote long-term saving on procurement costs.
  • IT Systems: Oversee and manage IT systems tracking shipments, inventory, and supply of goods.
  • Reporting: Prepare procurement reports.
  • Finance Coordination: Coordinate with finance for timely payments as per credit period designed with vendor.
  • Legal Coordination: Coordinate with legal team to finalize and sign contracts with vendors and suppliers.

Requirements:

  • Supply Chain Experience: Proven experience in similar role managing supply chain operations.
  • Software Tools: Experience using supply chain management software and tools, including Oracle, SAP Ariba, and/or Envision.
  • Contract Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of preparing and reviewing contracts, invoicing, and negotiation terms.
  • Microsoft Office Suite: Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, and Access).
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Technical Understanding: Have technical understanding of mining-related machinery and materials.

Education: Minimum bachelor's degree in procurement and/or supply chain management, business administration, or related areas.
