Sr Sourcing Manager Job Description

The Senior Sourcing Manager will be based in Karachi and reporting to the Vice President of Corporate Sourcing.

As a cross-functional leader, this individual will be responsible for developing strategic Asian suppliers in relationships in Pakistan and Sri Lanka, focusing on reducing costs and lead times while improving product quality and consistency.

The successful candidate will develop a high-performance supply chain sourcing team, emphasizing innovative products and processes, as well as speed to market improvements.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Establish and maintain business relationships with external suppliers, ensuring negotiated contracts meet quality and service requirements.
  2. Develop a representative office in Karachi to coordinate all sourcing activities.
  3. Increase new product development speed to market.
  4. Implement new processes to support revenue growth opportunities.
  5. Lead the implementation of Asian sourcing activities aligning with company strategic objectives.
  6. Analyze industry trends to assess short- and long-term strategic sourcing goals and objectives.
  7. Develop pricing forecasts for business planning purposes.
  8. Monitor key performance metrics, including on-time delivery, quality assurance ratings, and factory capacities.

This role requires a demonstrated track record of improving supplier performance and reducing costs.

Requirements

Fully qualified candidates will possess:

  1. A minimum 7 years of textile industry experience with senior management sourcing experience.
  2. Expert knowledge of internal purchasing procedures and processes, as well as external trends and best practices.
  3. Profound knowledge of textile and apparel manufacturers throughout Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
  4. Aggressive negotiation skills with extensive experience in product costing.
  5. Demonstrated ability to improve supplier performance and reduce costs.
  6. Strong procurement experience or the ability to quickly acquire complex strategic procurement skills.
  7. A bachelor's degree in management, engineering, textiles, or a related field.
