Oral Communication Expert

The purpose of this role is to develop, manage, and coordinate a speech and language program for students/trainees facing oral communication challenges.

Main Responsibilities and Expectations
  • Professional Consultation: Provide expert advice to help colleagues and stakeholders understand clients' speech, language, and communication difficulties.
  • Collaboration and Problem-Solving: Work collaboratively to develop practical solutions and recommendations for students/trainees with speech and language disorders.
  • Client Assessment: Conduct comprehensive assessments, diagnoses, treatments, and follow-ups for students/trainees with speech and language disorders, focusing on swallowing difficulties.
  • Outcome Measurement and Quality Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve treatment outcomes and service quality.
  • Record-Keeping and Documentation: Maintain accurate and efficient client records and documentation.
  • Tailored Intervention: Develop and implement individualized intervention plans based on assessment results.
  • Discharge Process: Document discharge criteria and refer students/trainees to other services as necessary.
Essential Qualifications
  • Accredited Degree in Speech Pathology.
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills.
  • Relevant Experience Working with Children to Young Adults with Intellectual Disability (Preferred).
  • Ability to Work Independently with Minimal Supervision.
  • Valid AHPC Practising Certificate.
