Job Overview

The Staff Accountant plays a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting, while providing support to corporate accounting functions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of financial reporting and general ledger structures.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of monthly and year-end financial information.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to support department goals and objectives.
  • Analyze department work to develop efficient procedures and resource allocation.
  • Respond to inquiries from ownership groups, regulatory agencies, and finance managers.
  • Assist with year-end audits and ensure all financial reporting deadlines are met.
  • Support Accounting Supervisors with special projects and contribute to process development.
Requirements
  • BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience in financial reporting/general ledger areas, preferably in multi-family real estate.
  • PC proficiency and ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Interpersonal, supervisory, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
