Job Description:

The Operations and Lab Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of oil and petroleum operations, chemical management, and laboratory activities. This role requires strong leadership and management skills to ensure quality standards and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities:

  1. Operational Efficiency:
    • Streamline daily processes for increased productivity.
    • Develop and implement cost-saving initiatives.
    • Enforce adherence to safety protocols and industry regulations.
  2. Team Leadership:
    • Train and develop team members for optimal performance.
    • Foster a safe and productive work environment.
    • Address operational and lab-related issues promptly.
    • Communicate effectively with clients.
  3. Regulatory Compliance:
    • Align operations and lab practices with regulations and standards.
    • Monitor the implementation of environmental and safety regulations.
  4. Reporting and Record-Keeping:
    • Prepare regular performance reports (e.g., quality, operational efficiency).
    • Maintain accurate records for inventory and resource management.
    • Provide data and records for internal and external audits.

Requirements:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

Background and Skills:

  • 15-20 years of experience in oil and petroleum operations or laboratory management.
  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance and regulatory compliance.

Desirable Skills and Certifications:

  • Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and reporting capabilities.
  • Proficiency in relevant software.
  • Knowledge of safety and environmental compliance.

Certifications:

  • ISO 17020/17025 (Operations and Laboratory Accreditation).
  • NEBOSH/IOSH Certification for safety standards.
