Job Description:

The Telecommunications Technician will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of wireless communication systems. This includes ensuring seamless wireless connectivity and optimal network performance.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and maintain wireless communication systems (Wi-Fi routers, access points, antennas, and repeaters).
  • Conduct site surveys to identify optimal equipment placement and signal coverage.
  • Identify and resolve wireless network issues, including interference, weak signals, and hardware malfunctions.
  • Upgrade and maintain wireless infrastructure as needed, including firmware and security updates.
  • Monitor wireless network performance and provide recommendations to improve connectivity.
  • Collaborate with IT/network teams to ensure integration with other network systems.
  • Configure and deploy mobile and handheld communication devices (e.g., radios, smartphones, tablets).
  • Document installation procedures, network diagrams, configurations, and maintenance logs.
  • Provide technical support and training to end-users on wireless systems.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and internal IT/security policies.
