Remedial Teacher Role Summary

We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Remedial Teachers to join our Literacy, Numeracy, and Life Skills Program for children with diverse learning needs.

Job Description:
  • Job Title: Remedial Teacher
  • Reports to: Senior Management Team

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing individualized instruction and support to students with disabilities in accordance with individualized programs generated by the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and implement student induction evaluations to identify upfront student academic, life skills, and development journey requirements.
  2. Administer periodic milestone assessments for progress tracking and improvisation as needed.
  3. Provide direct instruction and design strategies tailored to student needs, particularly those with ADHD, autism, and other learning and developmental delays.
  4. Modify curriculum to meet student learning styles and abilities, ensuring equal access to education.
  5. Maintain accurate records of students' progress, behavior data, and compliance documentation.
  6. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support students' growth and development.
  7. Communicate regularly with families to address concerns, share progress, and ensure open dialogue.
  8. Participate in professional development sessions and incorporate best practices from the field into daily operations.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Linguistics, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of learning disabilities, ADHD, Autism, processing difficulties, and developmental delays.
  • Fluency in English with a solid grasp of phonology and educational assessments.
  • Nimble, adaptive, compassionate, and collaborative approach to teaching.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Training or certification in the Orton-Gillingham approach or other structured literacy programs is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of psychology and neuroscience also enhances our team's expertise.
