The Circle – Literacy, Numeracy & Life Skills Program
The Circle is looking to hire three dedicated Remedial Teachers to join our specialized Literacy, Numeracy, and Life Skills Program for children with diverse learning needs
The Special Education Teacher is responsible for providing individualized instruction and support to students with disabilities in accordance with individualized programs generated by the enterprise. This educator will collaborate with specialists, families, and management to ensure each student's unique academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer student induction evaluations to design an upfront student academic, life skills, and development journey. This will be punctuated by periodic milestone assessments for progress tracking and improvisation (if needed)
- Provide direct instruction and design (where needed) in-class strategies for students with ADHD, autism, and other learning and developmental delay tailored to student needs
- Modify curriculum to meet student learning styles and abilities
- Maintain accurate records of students progress, behaviour data, and compliance documentation
- collaborate with Circle team to support students to reach the best of their abilities
- communicate regularly with families to address concerns and to share progress
- participate in professional development sessions and incorporate field best practices
Requirements:
- Minimum of Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Linguistics, or a related field
- Strong understanding of learning disabilities, ADHD, Autism, Processing diffculties and developmental delays
- Fluency in English with a solid grasp of phonology and educational assessments
- Nimble and adaptive, compassionate, collaborative
Preferred Qualifications: (not mandatory)
- Training or certification in the Orton-Gillingham approach or other structured literacy programs is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of psychology and neuroscience is also a plus.
