Main Responsibilities:

  • Market Research and Trend Analysis: Conduct thorough research on current fashion trends, seasonal colors, patterns, and styles popular in the US market. Analyze competitors to understand their offerings, pricing, and customer preferences.
  • Design Conceptualization: Develop mood boards and design themes that reflect the brand's identity and target audience. Create storylines for collections that showcase your creative vision.
  • Material Selection: Collaborate with material specialists to choose high-quality leather and complementary fabrics suitable for the designs. Ensure materials meet both aesthetic and functional requirements.
  • Pattern Development and Prototyping: Work closely with pattern makers to create precise patterns for the designs. Review and provide feedback on initial prototypes for accuracy and alignment with the vision.
  • Collaboration and Coordination: Communicate effectively with the design team to ensure cohesion across all product lines. Coordinate with sampling teams to manage timelines and quality during prototype development.
  • Quality Control: Inspect samples and finished products for quality, design fidelity, and functionality. Address any issues in design or production that compromise quality.
  • Presentation and Feedback: Present final designs and prototypes to stakeholders for approval. Incorporate feedback to refine designs and enhance market appeal.
  • Design Documentation: Maintain a portfolio of all designs, including sketches, digital files, and prototype details. Create detailed technical packs for manufacturers.
  • Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Experiment with new techniques, embellishments, and finishes for leather products. Stay updated with advancements in fashion technology.
  • Time and Cost Management: Plan and prioritize tasks to meet project deadlines. Ensure designs align with budget constraints while maintaining quality and appeal.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Expertise in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD tools.
  • Knowledge of fabric properties and garment construction techniques.

Critical Skills:

  • Creative vision and a strong sense of aesthetics.
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or a related field. 3–5 years of experience in fashion design, preferably in safety apparel or related industries.
