Civil Estimation Specialist

Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Experienced Civil Engineer to assist our clients in estimating a wide range of projects from conception to completion.

Responsibilities:
  • Review tender documents for completeness and analyze scope of work
  • Calculate costs, estimate timelines, and interpret plans and codes
  • Review project drawings and specifications, create final Bill of Quantities (BOQ)
  • Raise clarifications timely for better bid accuracy
  • Coordinate and follow up on post-bid clarifications
  • Prepare bids with input from subcontractors and third parties
  • Ensure compliance and accuracy in commercial submissions
  • Verify and prepare material take-offs (MTOs)
  • Create rate breakdowns for BOQ items
  • Estimate costs for change orders and scope modifications
  • Manage subcontractor responses and evaluations
  • Assist procurement with vendor evaluations
  • Support risk evaluation and mitigation strategies
  • Present detailed cost estimates for management review
  • Maintain lessons learned database from projects
  • Perform additional related tasks as needed

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as an Estimation Engineer or similar role with US companies or multi-disciplinary engineering, construction, or construction management firms
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and Estimating Software such as PlanSwift, AutoCAD, or similar
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to provide accurate project estimates
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of Cost Estimation Spreadsheets, Databases, and Estimating Packages
  • Understanding of construction drawings, technical specifications, and standards
  • Ability to perform quantity take-offs, analysis, estimates, and studies
  • Identify constructability issues and suggest cost-efficient alternatives
  • Coordinate between subcontractors, design team, and clients
  • Prepare and assemble bids and proposals for various contracts
  • Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to understand client needs and participate in negotiations
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction-related qualifications, or Estimation Certificates
Working Conditions

Summer: 5 pm to 2 am (PST)
Winter: 6 pm to 3 am (PST)
